Everything You Need

A closer look at what Gamekins does today, and what it deliberately leaves out.

One Library for Every Store

Epic, Steam and GOG games side by side, together with the programs already on your PC.

Store badges and filters
See at a glance where each game lives and filter by store.
Steam-style sidebar
Favorites, collections, Running and Updates sections, with type-ahead search and full keyboard control.
A home worth opening
Free games on Epic this week, recent games and a cover-art grid with size and sort options.
Steam works before sign-in
Installed Steam games show up even if you have not signed in anywhere.

Library Sync

Connect your Epic, Steam and GOG accounts and bring your owned games into one library.

Refresh your collection
Pull in your owned games when you sign in, refresh on demand, and check again in the background while no game is running.
Keep installs in view
Gamekins checks for existing installs and follows games installed or removed through the Steam and GOG clients.
Your saves stay with your games
This sync brings together your library and install status. Cloud-save syncing is not available in this version.

Game Pages

Each game has its own page, built around the one thing you came to do.

Hero art and a big Play
Large artwork, play time, last played, size and version.
DLC and manage links
Browse DLC, jump to the store page or support, and open properties.
A real Properties dialog
Launch options, updates, installed files, DLC and custom artwork.
Right-click everywhere
Context menus for the things you do most.

Downloads

Supported Epic games download straight from Epic’s CDN with Gamekins’ own downloader.

Parallel and verified
Chunks download in parallel and every file is checked as it is written.
Pause and resume
Pick up where you left off, even across restarts.
Smart updates
Reuses data already on disk and only downloads what changed. A Rocket League patch dropped from 28.8 GB to 4.7 GB.
Repair
Verifies an install and re-downloads only the damaged files.
Queue and graphs
Network and disk graphs, a reorderable queue and a bandwidth limit.
Polite by design
Optional auto-updates, and downloads that pause while you play.

Real Play Tracking

Running and play time follow the game’s actual processes, not just its launcher stub.

Honest status
A game shows as Running while it is really running.
Stop means stop
Stopping a game stops the game, not only the launcher around it.

Already on Your PC

Bring what you have. Gamekins does not ask you to start over.

Adopt existing installs
Picks up games the Epic launcher installed, including DLC and optional content packs.
Point at a folder
Link an existing install, or move one to another drive.
Add any program
Like Steam’s “Add a Non-Steam Game”, for everything else you play.
Desktop shortcuts
Shortcuts that launch games through Gamekins using gamekins:// links.

Unified Friends Tab

Epic, Steam and GOG friends together in one tab. See who is online and what they are playing across your connected accounts.

Epic, Steam and GOG
See presence and game activity across connected stores, with friend requests where the provider supports them.
Chat where it works
Chat with Epic friends inside Gamekins. Steam chat opens in Steam.
Store edition note
Native chat is disabled in the Microsoft Store edition.

Desktop Touches

The small things that make a launcher feel like part of your computer.

Storage manager
See what each game takes up across your drives.
System tray
Close to tray and launch at login if you want.
Epic’s store, built in
Browse the Epic store inside the app with the same sign-in. In the Microsoft Store edition, catalogs open in your browser instead.

Sign-in and Privacy

Gamekins never sees your password.

Sign in on the provider’s page
You sign in on Epic’s own login page and Gamekins only receives a login token.
Encrypted on your device
Tokens are encrypted with your operating system’s keychain and refreshed automatically.

Not Here Yet

Gamekins is early but very usable. These are not done yet.

Cloud saves and achievements
Not available in this version.
Steam and GOG friends chat
Presence works; native chat is Epic only.
Native Steam and GOG downloads
Their own clients install those today.

Bring Your Games Home

Gamekins is free and open source. Get it from Microsoft Store for Windows, or download the early macOS and Linux releases.
